Here are your five tips, to help you have a healthy, happy wedding day in paradise...
Seasonal Traffic! - The time of year in which you choose to book your Florida wedding, will directly impact on how easily you, and your wedding party/guests etc get to move around the local area. High season traffic can literally DOUBLE low season driving times, queues to get gas, and the same principle applies to eating at restaurants/bars etc, and especially...PARKING! Pad your timeline, to factor in realistic timeframes for getting to/from locations.
Assign a 'photo wrangler'! - you may be lulled into thinking "I have great organizational skills...I got this!", but the reality is, you'll be so busy...you're finally JUST married, your guests and loved ones are flurrying around you, all wanting that "congratulations" hug...so utilizing a designated guest (M.O.H, Best Man, relative etc), means that your Photographer can be lining up the formal photo's for immediately after, and getting his/her groups of family/friends corralled, so that he/she can get you transitioned through the Formals and into your Couple portraits, then out of the sub-tropical heat/humidity as smoothly as possible.
The climate - can be literally brutal, especially on a day where there are high emotions, flurries of activity, long periods of standing, and crowds of bodies. Provide parasols, hand fans and sunglasses for your guests, to pick up as they go to their seats. These items also make awesome souvenirs, and can be 'branded' with your names/wedding date etc.
Daily Survival - Chances are that, during your Florida wedding day, your guests and yourselves are going to leave the wonderful comfort of Air Conditioning, and enter what can feel like the equivalent of an outdoor sauna! This is not an over-dramatization, and you'll fare so much better, if you constantly bear this in mind...carry a 'survival kit' of wet wipes, hand fan, hand mirror, tissues (to 'blot' sweat, tears etc). I often carry a small cooler bag, filled with frozen bottles of water, (which act as their own freezer block, and can make a refreshing drink as they thaw), plus wet wipes etc.
Which brings us to 'ALCOHOL'! - Pace yourself, if you do it...take it moderately, the heat/humidity can easily double the effect of alcoholic beverages...so unless you like the 'messy bride' look, resist the urge to 'pre-game and dive right in! Hydrating yourself the day(s) before, and on the day itself is a 100 percent MUST! You'll enjoy the experience so much more, AND look your absolute BEST for your portraits!

Plans to host the wedding outdoors, in the grounds of The Edison Country Club, were scuppered by rain, but that didn't stop us from having a great time, experiencing a beautiful and touching ceremony... and STILL shooting outdoor portraits of the bride and groom, guerrilla style, with the use of fast cars and umbrella's!

Much fun was had by all (the Bridal Party were a fun gang!), and they worked with us to capture some beautiful moments that Sam and Craig can cherish forever.

]]>The British Photographer is VERY proud to announce the opening of our 'Anniversary Sessions' Gallery!
We shared a BEAUTIFUL sunrise with one of our long-standing Couples, Jess and Kole, as they celebrated their first wedding anniversary together at Dinner Island in Florida (who would have thought that it was already whole year ago since we shared your amazing wedding day with you?!).
Getting to their chosen location was no easy feat... (Dinner Island being a good 1.5 hrs away from their home, and TWO from ours!) so needless to say, getting up at 3am to drive all the way to meet up, then travel to an amazing location was no small effort (Jess was getting her hair done at 4AM!!!)... but then when you share the commitment to getting great images that we all do, then the results are well worth the effort!
